Never Run out of Safe Drinking Water with Waterdrop

por Dr. Jonathan Doyle - Updated February 06, 2023
Rozellynn needed a water purification system to safeguard her household water, and she went for the Waterdrop D4. As a water quality practitioner, parent, and homeowner, Rozellynn identified compactness, stylishness, and seamless maintenance as the factors that convinced her to choose the Waterdrop D4 tankless RO water filter.

“the first thing I did was rip out the conventional reverse osmosis system under the kitchen sink...”

Every traditional reverse osmosis system comes with a water storage tank, where the filtered water is stored until required. However, these tanks are not perfect. According to Rozellynn, “It took up all the cabinet space, leaked, had a maintenance list a mile long which hadn’t been followed, and was probably growing all sorts of nasty bacteria (think green slime in the noodle tangle of tubes and connections).”
People using traditional RO machines probably have the same view as Rozellynn. An inbuilt tank in a RO system increases the risk of secondary pollution, makes maintenance difficult, and increases the demand for space.
RO water system tanks are breeding grounds for bacteria, especially when they are not properly and regularly cleaned. In addition, the cleaning process is costly, making it an option users hardly consider. The rubber smell of these tanks has also been discovered to be present in the filtered water, usually from the rubber separating water and air. Then there is also the space issue—users must consider the size of their kitchen sink when considering a tanked RO filtration system.
Technology has evolved, and we now have a new generation of RO systems without a tank and its limitations. These systems rely on advanced smart technology to filter water on request, eliminating the need for storage: no tank, no bacteria, and no impurities. The filtered water from these systems is free of secondary contaminants and tastes great.

“the letter from my city noting various exceedances of regulated substances in the water...”

When Rozellynn got the letter, she assessed the water quality history and discovered different discrepancies in the drinking water standards in the last decade. “Basically, I had no control over the quality or safety of an essential life requirement that my family was consuming.” quoted Rozellynn.

Fluoride

Fluoride was a source of concern for Rozellynn. Although they were present at levels that are not threatening to adults, it may lead to a full-blown case of dental fluorosis in children. Children usually take in more fluoride between the ages of 1 and 8, which is when they undergo teeth formation.
Dental fluorosis deforms the tooth enamel. Rozellynn is not new to this condition, a major dental health issue among American children. The 2011-2012 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey reported a considerable increase in the extent and severity of this condition compared to the previous surveys in 1999-2004 and 1986-1987.
Children between the ages of 12 and 15 recorded a total prevalence of 65% (from 41% in 1999-2004 and 22% in 1986-1987). The combined rate of moderate and severe degrees also increased from 1.2% (in 1986-1987) to 3.7% (1999-2004) to 30.4% (in 2011-2012).

Nitrogen

Nitrogen also popped up on Rozellynn’s list of concerns. Elevated nitrogen can be a deadly problem in infants, which worried her as a parent.
Nitrogen can be found in the air, where it reacts with oxygen and ozone to form nitrate. Nitrate is a common contaminant of municipal drinking water. The presence of nitrate in high levels in drinking water comes with health concerns like methemoglobinemia or “blue baby syndrome” in infants. It also causes certain cancers, spontaneous abortion, thyroid dysfunction, and respiratory infections in adults.
Animals are not left out—they are also at a high health risk when exposed to nitrate or nitrite contamination. The digestive systems of infant ruminant and monogastric animals can convert nitrate to nitrites, which means they are at risk of nitrate poisoning. However, the absence of nitrate-converting bacteria in the digestive systems of adult monogastric animals means they are not affected by methemoglobinemia.

“But I found Waterdrop, and all my concerns were unfounded.”

Rozellynn was further worried about other contaminants aside from nitrogen and fluoride. “How about all the other regulated chemicals that are known to cause harm, emergent substances of concern that we know very little about, and other things that may not even be tested for?”
Rozellynn wanted effective solutions and was prepared to spend a small fortune and sacrifice considerable under sink kitchen storage to accommodate a water filter system. But, for her, nothing beats keeping her family safe from the dangers of contaminated water. This was her belief until she discovered Waterdrop and the D4 tankless RO system.

Multistage Composite Filter

Waterdrop adopted advanced technology and design in the D4 tankless reverse osmosis system. It relies on a 6-in-1 composite filter comprising six filtration materials to deliver an efficient filtration process. The combination of PP cotton, activated carbon fiber, micron filtration membrane, reverse osmosis membrane, post-activated carbon block, and non-woven fabric ensures this filtration system can effectively reduce over 1000 harmful contaminants in water, including TDS, odor, lead, chlorine, PFAS, and sediment.

1:1 Water Drain Ratio

The Waterdrop D4 offers better water efficiency than the traditional RO systems. The system can filter up to 300% more purified water by using water more efficiently. Therefore, it helps to reduce water and energy bills. In the words of Rozellynn, “It’s an added bonus that the drinking water to waste water ratio is great too, so I can be confident that I’m being eco-conscious.”

Modern, stylish, and compact design

At 12.44 inches in height, this elegant reverse osmosis system is one of the smallest out there. Therefore, it requires minimal under-sink space. The absence of a water storage tank also protects you from the dangers of secondary pollution. You also get a stylish faucet with a metal finish out of the box, specially included to deliver an extensive and faster water flow.
Its exquisite body, suitable for small spaces, can also be used in RVs without worry, enjoy pure water with this RO water filter system everywhere.

Faster water flow

The Waterdrop D4 tankless RO system comes with a 400 GPD capacity. This translates to faster and more stable filtered water output. You can fill up your 8 oz glass in just 12 seconds—a setup that easily meets the water requirements of an average American family.

Seamless installation and filter replacement

Rozellynn reported, “Everything needed for installation was in the box, including a water tap. It was perfectly packed, neatly labeled, the instructions were incredibly clear, and the quality is top notch.”
In addition to the seamless installation, the Waterdrop D4 comes with an intimate buzzer that helps you keep up with your filter life. You can replace your filter promptly once a year with a simple push-and-pull design.

In Conclusion

“The peace of mind that my family is getting safe drinking water is first and foremost, but beyond that, it tastes good. We drink more water now than ever before.”
Waterdrop remains committed to providing homeowners like Rozellynn with world-class solutions that protect them and their families from the risks of contaminated water.
