Of all water treatment devices on the market, the countertop reverse osmosis system has the most outstanding water purification performance. The countertop RO system has the portability of countertop water purifiers and the RO membrane’s excellent filtration performance. Consequently, compared to traditional reverse osmosis systems, the countertop RO system provides a more satisfying water purification effect.
Waterdrop N1 countertop reverse osmosis water dispenser and Waterdrop K19 countertop reverse osmosis water filter
both belong to countertop RO systems family. Although similar, the two products are not identical. Hopefully, this blog helps you find the one that best suits your needs.

Similarities Between The Waterdrop N1 And K19
The Waterdrop N1 and K19 countertop RO systems have a 4-stage super filtration system. The stages include PP cotton, carbon block, reverse osmosis membrane, and UV sterilization. PP cotton is responsible for reducing large particle matter. Carbon block reduces residual chlorine and improves taste. The RO membrane
has a 0.0001-micron pore size that eliminates water impurities, including arsenic, antimony, and other chemicals. The UV light removes 99.9% of bacteria and viruses in the feed water. Consequently, both systems provide pure and safe filtered water for drinking.
Both Waterdrop N1 and K19 are compact systems with easy usage. The countertop RO water filter systems do not require plumbing or installation. In addition, you can use them immediately after powering on. The systems complement your space design without altering it, making them a good fit for most spaces.
In addition, both systems have the twist and pull filter replacement design, helping you replace the old filter within seconds.
The Waterdrop N1 and K19 countertop RO systems have one of the best pure-to-drain ratios in the present RO filter market. Thanks to the innovative drain water recycling technology, both the two products produce only one cup of wastewater for every three cups of pure water. The recycled water goes back into the feed water tank, thus saving more water compared to the traditional RO system.
The Waterdrop N1 and K19 have smart display screens that allow buyers to check information like filter status, the present volume, and TDS value in real-time and at a glance. The highly sensitive touch of the two products renders buyers a smooth and convenient user experience.
Customizable Water Capacity
The two products have four capacity options. The Waterdrop N1 has 4oz, 80z, 16oz, and manual options, while the Waterdrop K19 has 4oz, 8oz, 16oz, and 32oz options.
Power consumption is not a problem with the Waterdrop N1 and K19 systems. Both systems run on standby mode automatically, thus minimizing power consumption when not in use. A single touch can wake up the screen.
Multiple Application Scenes
Customers usually reference appearance and design when choosing a suitable countertop water purification product. The Waterdrop countertop RO systems N1 and K19 have a simple yet fashionable design. They match all application scenes, making them eye-catching and highly decorative.
Differences Between The Waterdrop N1 And K19
The Waterdrop N1 countertop RO water dispenser needs two filters—a CF filter and an MRO filter. The CF filter has a 6-month lifespan, while the MRO filter has a lifespan of 18 months.
On the other hand, the Waterdrop K19 countertop RO system needs only an all-in-one filter for deep filtration. In addition, the filters of Waterdrop K19 are known for extended lifespan. Each filter can last as long as 12 months before needing replacement.
Waste Water Treatment
Compared with Waterdrop N1, K19 is designed to separate the tap water and waste water in the raw water tank, so there’s a small compartment in K19’s water tank to form a space for storing waste water. During the water dispensing, waste water will be stored in this space, which can obviously increase the removing of TDS.
Capacity of External Tank
The capacity of external tank for Waterdrop K19 is 170 oz, which is larger than Waterdrop N1’s 153 oz.
The Waterdrop K19 is costlier than the N1. But in terms of the expenditure on replacement filters, Waterdrop N1’s buyers spend more bucks than K19 within a fixed period.
FAQ Available For Both Products
Q: Why Does the TDS value in the feed water tank change when the machine filters water?
A: The TDS value of purified water is positively correlated with the TDS value of the feed water, which is generally 5%-10% of feed water. When the machine starts to filter water, the recycled concentrated water continuously enters the feed water tank, resulting in a continuous change in the TDS value when the concentrated water mixes with the raw water. It tends to be stable after filtration.
Q: Are countertop RO systems worth it?
A: Yes. The countertop RO system efficiently removes impurities. In the entire filtration process, the system reduces most harmful substances like chloramine in your tap water, reduces TDS, and significantly improves water taste.
Q: Is this reverse osmosis water filter system unit suitable for well water?
A: Using well water
with our RO systems is not recommended. Here are the reasons why:
- 1. Large particles.
Well water has large particles compared to municipal tap water. Therefore, well water clogs the filters, significantly shortening their lifespan. And even if you add a pre-filtration system, you still need to replace the filters frequently.
- 2. Composition
The well water has a very complicated composition, and some of them (apart from the large particles) can cause the filter or internal valve to be clogged and prevent the RO system from normal performance.
Buyers’ Reviews From Amazon
Waterdrop N1 Countertop Reverse Osmosis Water Dispenser
“No plumbing needed. That is certainly the main reason for getting a unit like this rather than a traditional version. But I have found that it also works great as a portable unit that can be taken on trips and vacations and as an excellent way to be independent of water bottles. It uses the water tank on the back as a water feed but it also discharges the RO waste water into this same tank. I think it has enough internal water volume in the filtration system to use most of the feed water tank as source water and only dump the rejection waste water into the tank when it is nearly empty. I didn’t expect this unit to produce as clean or low TDS water as the 7-stage RO that I have at home. It doesn’t. I’m reading about 15ppm TDS product water made from source water of about 150ppm. The CF (combination filter) needs to be replaced about every 6 months while the RO filter every 18 months. That adds up to CF*6 and RO*2 over the course of 3 years. In dollars that’s $30*6= $180. Plus $50*2=$100. That’s around $300 after taxes which equates to approximately $100 per year. Not bad at all. I would recommend this filtration unit to anyone needing a good portable countertop unit. Everyone goes to it when I take it on trips. It often gets refilled several times per day. Way better than tap and most bottled waters. 5 stars for a nice clean design, ease of use, and good performance.”
Waterdrop K19 Countertop Reverse Osmosis Water Filter System
“Easy to set up. Holds a lot of water. Doesn’t seem to be wasting energy while not in use.”
“Pros:1. Compact; 2. Requires only 1 filter; 3. TDS meter; 4. Good water taste; 5. Large water tank; 6. UV filtered water
Cons: 1. You need to flush water before every refill otherwise TDS level goes up. 2. The water tank has big capacity but waste water seems to mix up with remaining water when the tank is full. 3. It needs open space with electric outlet within 2 feet.”
The Waterdrop N1 and K19 reverse osmosis systems have high water purification performance. Thus, buyers can consistently experience convenient water purification. If you’re having difficulties in choosing between Waterdrop N1 and Waterdrop K19, hope this comprehensive comparison will help you make the right choice depending on your needs.
