How often should you replace spa filters?
There is no official answer to this as the filter lifespan might depend on
various factors including the source water quality, use time and personal maintenance. Generally
speaking, the pool & spa filter can last 1-2 years.
If I don’t change my filter in time, can this damage the system?
It is essential to replace your filter in time. But the accurate time may
vary, depending on the filter’s performance or the degree of filtration it has been subjected to.
Leaving your filters unchanged will lead to fatigue and adversely affect the filtration process.
Can you run a spa without a filter?
It’s not suggested to do so. Running the pump in a spa for too long
without a filter can lead to clogged pump impellers and a fast decline in the water quality. So if you
need a new filter, replace it as soon as possible. And in the meantime, only run the pump on low speed
instead of turning it off.
What size filter do I need for my hot tub?
You can find the filter model number normally printed on the filter
cartridge. If there’s nothing printed on your filter, you will need to pull out a measuring tape or a
ruler. You’ll need to gather a few measurements from your current filter, and try to be as accurate as
possible. Do not include any handles, tapers, pinholes, or slots in your measurements.
How to clean a spa and pool replacement filter?
Follow the instruction of your pool filter to remove the filter cartridge.
Use a spray nozzle on your garden hose and spray at an angle to get
between the pleats. Do not use a pressure washer; it will damage the filter cartridge.
If the pool and spa filter is hard to be cleaned, soak it in filter
cleaner overnight. Make sure the cartridges are completely submerged in the water and cleaner mixture.
Check the filter tank O-ring on the filter tank. If it’s in good shape,
lightly apply some lubricant to keep it that way. If it’s dry-rotted, deformed, stretched, or appears
worn out, you need to replace it.
Rinse the pool & spa filter replacement cartridges thoroughly.
Put the filter cartridge back and secure them in place.
